Google Trends. A big part of your marketing strategy should be knowing how to get your target audience to find you. With Google Trends, you are able to test out certain terms and phrases you currently use in your marketing strategy to see how they hold up. The tool will even show you the trends over time and additional details that will help you continue to evolve your strategy.

Get Your Business Online. Did you know that 97% of consumers who use the Internet will look online for local goods and services? If you don’t have a website, let this tool help you get going. It will help you with a domain, some website building and hosting for up to a year.

Google AdWords Keyword Planner. Keywords, or the words and phrases you are using in your marketing to help drive your target customers to your website, is the most important part of search engine optimization (SEO). Google’s AdWords is a great tool, and now they have a keyword planner to help you research what language your customers are using when searching online for the product or service you provide.

Google Alerts. This is a great tool that does a lot of public relations for you. You can set it up to monitor the Internet for certain words, phrases, even your own business name, so that you’re in the know about what people are talking about within your industry. You can use this information to create content, relay your position on a certain subject to your audience, or further promote the mention of your own company name by a customer or client.

Google Calendar. Most small business owners use this tool to organize their day and balance their personal and professional responsibilities, but Google Calendar is also a great way to keep track of your editorial calendar. If you are planning your content in advance, this is a great tool to plan it in. With its’ visually pleasing color-coded system and ability to share with others, this tool can keep your content marketing strategy intact.
