As 2021 approaches the end, we must figure out which trends are coming with us as we prepare for the new year. It may be tempting to invest in paid advertising for conversions, however, there are some strategies that can be useful with no added cost. Learn the current SEO trends that can help boost your rankings and make your website more visible in 2022.

  1. Keyword Research

The words chosen to fit on a webpage hold a lot of value to search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo. Certain terms that are searched more frequently by users can be weaved within your content to help encourage your page to come up for relevant searches. The best way to determine what those terms are is to perform keyword research. Long tail keywords that are related to the content on your page and match the intent of the query that is searched by the user are able to encourage more clicks and land a higher spot on SERPs. 

  1. Voice Searches

One form of user searches that has gained in popularity over the years has been voice. Voice enabled devices like Siri and Amazon Alexa are used for many purposes, including searches on Google. Whenever there is a new way for a user to receive information on the internet, it’s important to learn how to best align your marketing strategies with that. Similar to how you would perform keyword research for the words that would be read on a webpage, voice searches also require phrases that are long tail and specific to match the query being spoken into the device.

  1. Video Marketing

In addition to our ears, many people feel visuals are useful for obtaining information they are seeking. Channels like YouTube are a great way to reel in customers and showcase your content in another manner. For SEO regarding a video, it’s important to optimize the description by adding keywords that are related to the topic of your video. It’s important not to overstuff the description with keywords but instead just pull the most related ones and include them in a natural flowing manner. 

  1. Schema Code

Another trend that is likely to stay for the remainder of 2021 and lead into 2022, is Schema code. Have you ever entered a question into Google and noticed a snippet pull the answer from the most closely matched source? If yes, then you have witnessed a successful Schema code implementation. Schema Code is a great tool for SEO because it helps establish a higher position on SERPs while matching your website to the intent of user searches.
